ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Carrie and I would like to welcome you and tell you a little about myself.  I have been married to a wonderful man for the past six years and have two beautiful little boys.  Since I became a mother, it's been my biggest goal to be able to spend as much time as possible with my two children, finding the balance between work and home life has been a challenge for me.  I decided to become a Child Care Provider in order to be able to be home with my two children, while at the same time bringing them the socialization opportunities that come with attending an in-home daycare with other children.  The time had come for my oldest son to start attending a preschool program of some sort, and I was finding it difficult to find suitable daycare openings in the area that I live...all the good ones were always full!  Plus, with my youngest son still in the infant/toddler category at the time, it had become increasingly difficult to find openings for that particular age range.  I decided that I wanted to CREATE the kind of daycare that I wanted my two boys to attend.

Before I decided to become a Child Care Provider, I earned my Associates of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology.  I worked as a Laboratory Technician for nine years, and worked my way up to Quality Specialist in the Component Lab of Transfusion Medicine at Mayo Clinic, where I was at that position for three years.

I am licensed with a Class C-1 Group Family childcare license, and have completed First Aid and CPR training for infants, children and adults.  I have also completed Essential Elements training, and am a member as well as a Board Member of our local Family Child Care, Inc. (FCCI)

I began doing family child care on September 2, 2008.  I participate in the Minnesota Food Program, so nutritious, well balanced meals and snacks for your children are guaranteed.
